£16m contract 8 years in the making Chalcot Estate social housing project

At the end of March 2006, the long awaited Chalcot Estate refurbishment programme was signed off by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Camden Council, and Rydon Construction. The scheme (which is the first of it's kind to be executed under a PFI form of contract), starts on site in June 2006, for a three year period. Harley's directors signed a contract with Rydon Construction, on 12th May 2006 for £16m. Some might say that this was an historic day for Harley being that certain members of the team began working on the scheme back in 1998, advising Camden's Housing department on specification and cost. Some eight years on, and all the hard work has been rewarded with a £16m order to Harley. Click here for more information on the scope of Harleys' work.
